this bike with a set of pipes and an se intake would make almost as much power, and it makes around 95 hp out of the box. This is a chopper-inspired cruiser, but a drag-strip ready race bike. It may not be the fastest, but it damn sure looks better than your Yamaha.

its ingenuity that has stood the test of time. the new bikes are fuel injected and diffrent from those from the 60's, 70's 80's and most of the 90's. but if u ask me ill stick with my 83 ultra glide. i find that the older bikes run better anyway. harley the pick-up truck the corvette and the hot dog will always be the american icons.

Harley sound my ass. The angle between the cylinders gives the sound. Any v twin with a 45 degree cylinder angle would make the same sound. But enough of this talk. Have you heard the good news? Great video because they are great bikes. No other bike sounds quite like a Harley. They have their own unique sound. So unique that I've heard there is a patend on the sound, can't be duplicated. You can put high performance pipes on a Honda, but it still ain't a Harley.

You like the old stuff, so do I. But unless things have really changed sine I owned jap bikes about 20 years ago, most manufactures dont make parts for their 1958 models and unless its a harley there isnt alot of third party manufacturers of parts for the other makes either.

You can't make a cruiser based V-twin that can compete with a sportbike, Ducati uses a V-twin in their bikes, but sportbikes are engineered completely differently that cruisers. If you want a smooth ride with lots of low end torque, you want a cruiser, if you want shitloads of horsepower on something that is BUILT to redline, you want a sportbike. They're 2 different demographics man, there is no overlap. But HD owns Buell and MV Augusta, those are the companies to compete with Japanese bikes.

I always find it funny that people bust on Harley because of performance. Of course a sportbike will smoke a cruiser, but as far as cruisers go HD is at the top of the fucking heap! the Fatboy won Cycleworld's best cruiser of 07, and the Sportster beat out a Ducati and a Triumph there too. In case you think Cycleworld is Harleycentric, pick up a copy sometime, it's all sportbikes. As for reliability, belt driven, rubber mounted engine and EFI nowadays. They're much more reliable than before.

the problem with Jap superbikes owners is that most dnt know how to ride around corners, they're are only good at cracking the throttle. means the guy that has learnt the art of flowing high corner speed, even on something like a Ducati Monster, or Harley 1200 will destroy them in the corners - i do it every wknd. plus Jap bikes are a bit whitetrash for those in the US and a bit Chav for those in the UK. if you have a bit of taste and class you'll buy Italian or Harley, not some ugly Asian shit

Well i tried turning it the last time i rode a cruiser, I hardly even lean when the pegs were all over the asphalt, even when i tried shifting my weight to change the centre of gravity of the bike, the bike couldnt even turn fast. Yes, it is not the bike that determines the rider but a person must be an idiot to say that a cruiser can turn fast. Remember it is a CRUISER, it is not suppose to go FAST! Well, prove me wrong take your bike to track and see how many sportsbikes you can out run!
