harley lost all its soul when it brought in the EVO engine. knuckle, pan and shovel head were the good ones. EVO onwards are nice and low maintenance, but thats the reason to have a bike. to have something involved. to do the work your self.

Hey Lorenz, great info on the rocker. KT components make a torsion bar suspension replacement for all the softtails you should check out. The torsion bar carries the load and the single shock does what its supposed to do. Anyway, just food for thought. Cant wait to see what else you do it, as I'm deciding between a basic Rocker, or a Fat Bob.

Beautiful bike, I have a 07 fatboy with Vance and Hines big radius pipes and it just don't sound as good on fuel injected bikes as it do on carburated bikes. Almost need the idle turned down some.

I think the very old bikers of the 40's & 50's would have rode superbikes back then. In fact they took the crap harley of that day and chopped as much crap off them as they could and called them choppers. Today guys who dont know the first thing about riding buy these so-called choppers or harleys cut the sleeves off their favorite walmart shirt and all of a sudden they go from couch potato to badass biker.. HAHA What a freakin joke. Muscle shirts were made to show muscle not 4 inch arm hair..

the seat looks like shit, it shouldve been alot closer to the rear fender, when the passenger seat is open it looks terrible, therwise its a nice bike, im getting my girl one this winter, id have to bet they redesign that for 2009, I love harleys but just dont know what they were thinking when they designed the seat setup.

I've owned a couple harleys and both gave me trouble,parts are rediculous over priced! I love my Jap ass fuckin' bike! my seats leather, tank & fenderbra's leather, fenders are STEEL . Yes I'm pissed off about the fact that we can't build an american bike without competetive pricing! I could have bought a plain jane sporty just to say "HEY I GOT A HARLEY" I look past the trendy shit and found WAY more VALUE ! harleys are pretty and mostly overpriced ! they leak oil and the parts are overpriced ...I've had my metric for 4 yrs now (owned two suckass harleys) and I don't have to work on it ,and can go on long rides with friends and dont have to be trailered home ! How do you expect them to mount a low fender to the frame, when a soft tail has a pivoting swing arm for the rear? Also a chopper originally was a Harley. It may appear to be base line, but thats the point in buying a new Harley in a way. You make it look like you want it to by customizing it. The 240mm tire being standard, saves you $1k by eliminating the need to buy a custom widened swing arm conversion kit. Its like people are wining over preferences when that what Harleys are all about.

In Australia bikes and cars are expencive due to our import Tax, Harleys are more then double in price compaired to USA, same goes for parts, what you would pay for $3k or $4k worth of crome extras, cost us in Aust $10k for instance the complete breaking sysstem, front/ rear including master cyl was $1,960. anything else you want to know,??? I have owned 5 harleys in the past 12 months. The oldest was a 99. Ranging from Sportsters to Baggers. Just bought a brand new Night Train with the 6 speed and FI 96" engine. My other softail is an 02 Deuce, with a stock 88" CARBERATED engine. The Deuce runs harder, sounds better, and gets 7mpg better. So you can keep your new technology. I know all about it.

GAG! I wouldnt give 2 squirts of piss for this POS. I too was disapointed at its unveiling. I ONLY ride Harleys, and this, is an abortion. Or it should have been. The crossbones is a much better looking bike, lose the seat.

Our 9 month old Chocolate Lab absolutely hated getting squirted with water as you can see in the video. Our 2 year old Black Lab, Rohm, then proceeds to chase Taz throughout the yard as he still loves to do today (a year later)
